Atom Bomb Baby

One of the more interesting aspects of Cold War popular culture was the bizarre interest in the atomic bomb. While the atomic bomb remained a weapon of mass destruction on a scale that was inconceivable, it also began to take on the connotation of being a euphemism for 'cool.' In other words, if something was way cool it had reached levels of being atomic.

One of the weirder uses for the atomic bomb as an adjective can be viewed in the forgotten little ditty Atom Bomb Baby. While this is a fun song and a catchy tune, it is not going to ever play on any oldies stations anytime soon...unless of course it gets used in a movie. (A ton of forgotten songs have been brought back to life thanks to the soundtracks for Kill Bill and The Devil's Rejects) Atom Bomb Baby is a song that is pretty much summed up by its lyrics:

Atom bomb baby sweet as a plum
Carries more wallop than uranium
When she kisses, there's no hitch
Zero power, she turns on the switch

Refrain

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT
Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb!

Yes folks...Atomic Bomb Baby refers to a gal who is so good in bed she reaches the level of an atomic bomb blast.
