Cyber Cold War?

Here is a unique and interesting article on the subject of a New Cyber Cold War.  The article raises a number of points as to how hacking can lead to a variety of tensions on a global level. While it is true that cyber attacks and hacking have increased significantly the concept of a Cold War can not exist without a nuclear stand off. That is why the war is cold as opposed to hot. Direct confrontations can lead to a nuclear strike. This is why concepts such as mutually assured destruction and detente we such common policy decisions. However, it would also be somewhat inaccurate to assume that increased incidents of cyber attacks will not lead to increased tensions among nations. Altough somewhat brief, this is still a solid article that provides some interesting food for thought,

Of course, this does not mean that there need to be a pushing of the proverbial panic button in regards to increased instances of cyber attacks or activity. In a way, it is to be expected as spying and meddling between nations is not uncommon. If it does reach unacceptable levels, however, that is the time to hit the panic button and start taking issues to address it even if it means outwardly declaring another nation an enemy.
